The Brixton Crossfire 500 STORR is a scrambler-styled 500cc twin that punches well above its price. \u20ac7,899 gets you a 471cc parallel twin with 47.6 PS, decent equipment from the factory, and - crucially - luggage included. Here is what separates it from the standard Crossfire 500 and whether the extra gear is worth it.<\/p>\n

Why you would actually want this bike<\/h2>\n

You want a 500cc scrambler that actually looks the part without spending BMW money. The Crossfire 500 STORR delivers the neo-retro scrambler aesthetic, a usable 47.6 PS, and a solid spec list for under \u20ac8,000. The luggage is included as standard - which matters if you actually plan to use the bike for its intended purpose.<\/p>\n

At 47.6 PS, it is not fast. But it is fast enough for real roads, real loads, and real riding. If you are cross-shopping 500cc classics, the Crossfire 500 deserves your attention.<\/p>\n

The engine<\/h2>\n

471cc parallel twin. 47.6 PS at 8,500 rpm. 43 Nm at 6,750 rpm. It is a free-revving engine that likes to spin - the power peak comes at high rpm, which means you work the gearbox a bit more than you would like. That is the trade-off with a 500cc parallel twin compared to something larger.<\/p>\n

Top speed is listed at around 165 km\/h, which is enough for real-world use. The 6-speed gearbox is smooth enough for daily riding. Fuel consumption is reasonable for a 500 - expect around 4-5 l\/100km in mixed riding.<\/p>\n

The standard Crossfire 500 and the STORR share the same engine, same KYB suspension, same Bosch ABS with IMU, same 4 riding modes, and same traction control. The STORR premium of \u20ac1,200 buys the larger 7-inch TFT display, slightly larger brake discs, and - most importantly - the included luggage. If you were going to add those items to the standard Crossfire 500 yourself, the STORR works out cheaper overall.<\/p>\n

The STORR vs the standard Crossfire 500 in practice<\/h2>\n

The STORR luggage is the real deal - a proper top case and side bags that come with the bike, not aftermarket extras you have to source and fit yourself. For touring or commuting use, that alone justifies the price difference if you were planning to add luggage anyway.<\/p>\n

The 7-inch TFT on the STORR is notably larger than the 5-inch on the standard model - easier to read at speed, better for navigation if you mount a device.<\/p>\n
